How should I care for my jewellery?

Brass: Brass is a great option for an affordable alternative to gold however it is not so resilient. This metal tarnishes faster than most metals so, to prolong its polish do not wear when swimming or showering and ensure piece completely dries if it is exposed to water. You can restore polish with a soft cloth and Brasso. All iam brass pieces are finished with an enamel coating on the inside, but this can wear away over time. Repaint with clear nail polish to prevent staining on the skin. Ultimately, brass jewellery is mainly costume jewellery and should not be worn 24/7.

Sterling Silver: Sterling Silver jewellery is super long-lasting and affordable. It is hypoallergenic and body-safe so wear it as much as possible. But to avoid excess tarnishing, you can use a soft cloth and polish when necessary. Scratching of metal occurs after regular use as Sterling Silver is a moderately soft metal.

Gold Plate (Sterling Silver): Gold Plated Sterling Silver is a great option for an affordable alternative to gold however it is not so long. Pieces will lose lustre over long periods of time and may become more silver-toned. To extend the life of your plating please remove when showering, washing hands and applying perfume/sunscreen or moisturizer. Re-gold plating services available. Gold plating is done in 18ct yellow gold.

Solid Gold: Solid 9ct Gold will not need much looking after however, it is a softer metal and may dent or bend slightly easier. It is body-safe and can be worn 24/7. To maintain a beautiful lustre, polish with gold polishing or microfiber polishing cloths.

All iam pieces are tumbled and work hardened with steel to prevent scratching and denting however, with regular use this is inevitable.
